Merri Sjaan is a board-certified physical therapist with a career spanning over 25 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, followed by a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Hanzehogeschool Groningen in the Netherlands.
Merri began her professional journey at Lee Memorial in Fort Myers, Florida, where she practiced for five years. In 2003, she completed the APTA/Emory University Competency Course in Vestibular Rehabilitation. Soon after, she relocated to Grants Pass, Oregon, with her husband, also a physical therapist, to be closer to family.
In Oregon, Merri established a vestibular program and focused primarily on neurological conditions at Asante. Over the past 15 years, she has dedicated her expertise to vestibular rehabilitation. Her personal experience of overcoming multiple peripheral and central vestibular conditions has provided her with unique insight and empathy for those facing similar challenges.
Merri’s latest endeavor is Balanced Physical Therapy, a practice dedicated to providing specialized care and improving the lives of her patients.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and traveling.
